However, Cher is given little credit for the very latter.

SiriusXMPolitics shared a photo of Madonna talking to Cher backstage in Washington, D.C., moments before Madonna delivered an expletive-filled performance on stage. Watch What Happens Live host Andy Cohen reposted the picture on his Instagram account, writing, "Trump brought Madonna and Cher together, so there is that!"

You didn’t hear this from me, but this week Cher was at the very first read-through of a new musical based on her life. I’m going to give you a few details, but I’m begging you: Don’t tell anyone! The reading was so hush-hush that security confiscated everybody’s cellphones before it started.

Cher made an appearance at New York City’s We Stand United rally, speaking out against Friday’s inauguration of President-elect Donald Trump. To begin, she opened humbly before tossing in a joking barb about the entertainment industry.

“I won’t introduce myself. I’m an elitist lib-tard,” she said. “I’m an elitist lib-tard whose grandmother picked cotton, whose mother sang on bars when she was eight years old during the Depression. … I want to tell you who I am so I can tell you what I believe.

Cher To Star In Flint Water Crisis Lifetime Movie

According to Deadline, Cher is set to star in Flint, Lifetime’s original movie about the water-contamination crisis in Flint, Michigan:

"The Oscar winner also will executive produce the project, along with Craig Zadan, Neil Meron, and Katie Couric. Oscar-nominated director Bruce Beresford has been tapped to direct Flint, which has not been formally greenlighted yet but is expected to begin production in the spring. Sony TV is the studio.
