WATCH! Cher Sings This Land Is Your Land During The We Stand United Rally

Singing legend Cher sang folk song This Land Is Your Land with a number of other performers during last night's We Stand United rally in New York City.

When Cher was a regular backing singer in the 1960's for Phil Spector, the legendary producer was forced to make Cher stand further back from the microphone than all the other backing vocalists, due to her overpowering voice cutting through above the others'.

The video of Cher taking part during a folksy group performance of This Land Is Your Land last night once again demonstrates the ridiculous power of Cher's voice.

The 70-year-old singer was clearly modest about singing during the performance, refusing a solo at one point. However, whenever she joined in with the others, her voice pretty much drowned them out -- despite her not trying to do so. After all, she is in the process of rehearsing for her upcoming residency and thus will not be putting too much strain on that iconic contralto.

Luckily for us fans, Cher sings a very small portion of the end of the song with little assistance, as she joins in with the crowd.

  1. This made me cry. In my office many of us cried today since the idea of Schlump is so sad for us.
